‘Jeopardy!’ GOAT Ken Jennings trashed for wheelchair tweet

Weeks after the passing of legendary host Alex Trebek, Sony Pictures Television tapped the Jeopardy! Greatest of All Time tournament winner as one of its guest hosts when new episodes of the quiz show head back into production. But Internet sleuths were quick to condemn his selection, zeroing in on a since-deleted 2014 tweet from Jennings in which he wrote: “Nothing sadder than a hot person in a wheelchair.”

Thanks to his 74-game win streak in the early 2000s, his all-time record for highest winnings in regular-season play with $2.52 million, his recent crowning as the Greatest of All Time, and his addition to the show as a consulting producer, Jennings had long-been assumed to take the podium when the time came for a new host.
